Fall Door Hanging ** GIVEAWAY ** ends 9/28/14

Autumn Equidecorātus

both fall doorhangings

Tomorrow evening (Sept 22) is the first day of Fall, the autumnal equinox.   The day and night will be nearly 12 hours each all over the world.    The word equinox comes from the Latin words for "equal night."    From this point on, daylight in the Northern Hemisphere will gradually grow shorter until the winter solstice, which occurs on Dec. 21, 2014.   To celebrate the Autumnal equinox, I am giving away one of my Fall door hangings to a lucky reader.

Details for entering

All you have to do is leave a comment on this post (See comment link at bottom) with a suggestion of something sewing related you would like to see on my blog.   Include your name (at least first name and last initial).  The deadline is next Sun night  9/28/14 at 6 pm EST.   note:  I changed comment submittals so that it doesn't require a Google account (just pick Anonymous).

I will randomly draw a name and announce the winner Sunday night (9/28).   Good luck!  and feel free to share this with your friends/family.   I know, I know – that is reducing your chances of winning but you’re just that nice a person.

Hi there, Debbie. I love your blog, and I have shared it with several people. Is there anything you can make from men's ties? I have so many pretty ones that Bill wore when he was in a suit-and-tie job. Love, Brenda K

Karen R. - Love the Fall Door Hanging - It looked really good on your front door. A suggestion for your blog - how about quilt retreats? I have some pictures from Whistlestop that you are free to use if you are interested in this topic.

Another suggestion for your quilt blog. September is National Sewing Month.

Hi Debbie! Wondering if you have any owl projects? Looking for an owl to use on my old rocking chair on the front porch, maybe a quilted hanging or on burlap. Glad you inherited the sewing talent & love of owls. RQReed

I enjoy reading your blog and seeing all your pictures. Of course my favorite thing is Jaxsons quilt! I love seeing the quilts and aprons are my favorite items so far.

Love your use of burlap and repurposed wool. This would look great on my front door! I'm looking for ideas on quick "stocking stuffer" ideas, say like unique pot holders, dish carriers, counter pads, etc. I know there are patterns out there from years ago, but I would love updated designs! Dottie K.

Comment from Patsy E. - This would be something totally different to put on door as opposed to a wreath
