Lunch bags by Rascal

I made lunch bags for Jennifer and myself.  They are insulated with Insul-fleece to keep food cold.  I also lined the inside of Jennifer’s with PUL (Polyurethane Laminate) a fabric that is water repellant so if she spills something it will wipe up easily.  Jennifer’s is the blue dandelion fabric and mine is the black flowers.

The zipper tags hang over a couple of inches on the sides so that the bag can open wide and you can place a food storage container straight down in the bag and it will sit flat.  It is a handy design, they are quite roomy.  I like the look of the zipper tabs even though it took some getting used to.  I used a purse zipper so that it has two zipper pulls that can be pulled either direction.

I packed a lunch in Jennifer’s new lunch bag for her road trip home.  I wish I could just pack her up in mine and keep her here.

The pattern I used for these lunch bags is called the ‘Executive Lunch Bag Purse’ and is from the Lunch Bags!: 25 Handmade Sacks & Wraps to Sew Today (Design Collective) book.
