I was going to make a quilt like Karen’s (see post) but the panel fabric repeated every two rows and there were duplicates within the rows. There are only eight unique squares.
See the duplicates that are circled within the the two repeating rows:
I had some Petite Odile fabric that I think blends very well. It has the red and blue and children in it. I made a “potato chip” quilt as my friend Becky calls it. I couldn’t think of how else to incorporate the 8 unique squares.
Here’s a picture of it laying on the bed. I think it turned out cute but I can’t decide if it should have a border. I believe Pappy’s has Petite Odile fabric with the children that I could use as a border, or maybe the jumbled letters (see second row, 1st block). Any suggestions?
I think the Petite Odile went very well with her panel squares. I sure hope she likes it. If not, I have more of the panel left ….

Becky says No border
It's pretty adorable without one. So I think if it needs to be bigger, yes. If not, no.
A small neutral border
I would add a small border. If you have fabric left over from what is already in the quilt, I would try these - Karen
The dark blue jumbled letters would be a good contrast. It will look great either way. For a boy or for a girl? Dark blue for a boy, no border for a girl.
I think a small border would look good – either neutral or maybe blue
