I was going to do a ‘Year of Quilts in Review’ post when I remembered a few quilts you haven’t seen from 2014. This quilt is a faux cathedral pattern named the 10 minute block by Suzanne McNeill. I alternated solid blocks with patchwork blocks. I used Moda’s Flirt and Moda Bella Solid in Snow for the blocks. The borders are Moda Avalon which matched the Flirt colors really well.
I gave it to my daughter Jennifer last spring before I had a blog so I asked her to send a few photos. I cross grid quilted the main part of the quilt and did a cable pattern in the border.

This is the first larger quilt I quilted with my Janome. I used a template with a cable pattern for the border. Here’s a few close-ups of the cable border on the back of the quilt.
